With the support of the Government of Karelia, one of the largest fish feed factories in Russia was opened in the republic
The start of the enterprise was given by the Head of the region Artur Parfenchikov. The new production is capable of producing up to 50 thousand tons of goods per year.
On June 24, in the settlement of Berezovka in the Kondopozhsky district, the company “Aqua Feed” opened a plant for production of feed for valuable fish species. This is one of the largest enterprises in this industry in the country, capable of producing up to 50 thousand tons of goods annually, which will allow almost complete provision of fish feed for all fish farms in Karelia.
The Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov together with the founder of the modern enterprise Nikolai Fedorenko and his successor, his daughter, the general director of “Aqua Feed”, Anastasia Fedorenko, launched the new plant.
– Today we opened an ultra-modern fish feed production plant. This is an important step towards creating a complete independent aquaculture production cycle in Karelia. Here, they will produce a high-quality competitive product, biologically safe and useful for both the farmed fish and its consumer, – noted Artur Parfenchikov. – Thanks to such projects, aquaculture in Russia will continue to develop. This is our next response to sanctions and economic pressure. Combining efforts, we are creating a domestic closed-loop production in various industries.
At the grand opening ceremony of the plant, Artur Parfenchikov awarded the Head of the Region's Badges of Honor “For Contribution to Development of the Republic of Karelia” to the employees of the enterprise, who made it possible to launch a new modern import-substituting production. The employees were noted for their high professionalism and were given props for development of the republican agro-industrial complex.
The new plant in the village of Berezovka will employ about a hundred qualified specialists, and the revenues to the local budget will increase significantly. Almost 1.8 billion rubles was invested in the enterprise establishment.
The Government of Karelia assisted in the project implementation by providing the state support measures. Thus, in August 2023, the enterprise received the status of the resident of the territory of advanced social and economic development “Kondopoga”, which means provision of tax and other benefits for business.
